Create an Online Business Site

Posted in Business on 03.08.10 by Merlyn

Hundreds of people daily are looking to create an Online Web Based Business. You can recognize the demand for online business by looking at the searches made on the search engines. They are phrases like create an online business site web, business online small web, business online page, business, online site web, web hosting for online business and online web site business opportunity just to mention a few.

Recently I wrote several articles, one about specific landing pages, another about matching keywords to specific landing pages and the last one was on keyword pricing. This time I am going to cover a few easy ways to monitor your campaigns so that you ensure you are accomplishing what you set out to do. Otherwise you will not bear the fruits of your efforts.

As I mentioned in my other articles you should ensure that you have a different landing page on your site for each area of you business. For example on my site I have a landing page for Work At Home, Top 10 business, Home Based Business, Moms Jobs, Affiliates, Data Entry, Online Paid Surveys and a link to my real time newsletter.

When utilizing one of the tools available to us called (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising, whereby we pay a search engine pennies to show our ad when someone types in particular keyword. As I mentioned in my other article you must break up your keywords in such a manner as to have all of your keywords on a given topic sent to the specific landing page. For example you should have all Work At Home keywords go to your landing page, which is mostly about Work At Home ideas. Like wise have you keywords on Home Based Business go to the landing page that highlights Home Based Business Opportunities.

In addition you don’t want to bidding against your self so you want to make sure that you don’t mix and match your keywords. You will want to advertise only the keywords that match a specific landing page when using (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising. Don’t have Work At Home keywords mixed in with Online Paid Surveys sending people to multiple landing Pages.

You will want to use multiple variation of a given keyword. Think about the conversation going on in your customer’s head. What would you type in if you were searching for the same thing? What would others type? Don’t just set you campaigns to run on a maximum price per click. Do some research to see how much a particular keyword is being searched for. This will help you set your keyword pricing.

So that you may ensure that your efforts are working you can monitor your campaigns on each search engine. Each search engine should have a reports page, whereby you can look up keywords for the day and it will show you what landing page your potential customer was sent to. If they clicked on the keyword Home Based Business and they were sent to your Work At Home page instead of your Home Based Business page then you know modifications are required. This will show that you must have home based business set as a keyword in you work at home campaign in addition to or instead of your Home Base Business campaign. You will either have to delete it and add it to your Home Based Business Campaign or move it there depending on the search engine.

Another tool you can use is to add a free counter to your page. There are many online that track urls so that not only can you see the ip address, time, landing page, length of time on your site, but many times it will show you the keyword searched for as well. It will help you see what needs to me modified on an ongoing basis.

Every subtle change in your website landing page, keywords, keyword bidding, no matter how minuscule, has an effect on your customer. I always recommend change, monitor, analyze, modify and keep continuing the process. Compare the new change to the old one so that you can see which landing page converts best.

Business Marketing Online

Posted in Business on 27.07.10 by Merlyn

Many people are starting Online Businesses, but learning on the fly, so to speak, how to get traffic to their sites. A big factor to be considered is how much will it cost to get the traffic to your web site. I recently wrote two articles, one about specific landing pages and the second about matching keywords to specific landing pages. This time I am going to cover the cost of each keyword. In other words how much should you pay for each phrase or keyword?

You can recognize the demand for online business by looking at the searches made on the search engines. They are phrases like business conferencing meeting online web, advertising business online web, business free online site web, online web business opportunity, business hosting online page web, online business web hosting and business create online site web opportunity just to mention a few.

There is much that is to be learned about this topic and I’m only going to scratch the surface in this article, but it should get you started off correctly. There are many factors to consider that can make a big difference in your profit.

You should ensure that you have a different landing page on your site for each area of you business. For example on my site I have a landing page for Work At Home, Top 10 business, Home Based Business, Moms Jobs, Affiliates, Data Entry, Online Paid Surveys and a link to my real time newsletter.

If you are utilizing one of the tools available to us called (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising, whereby we pay a search engine pennies to show our ad when someone types in particular keyword.

If it is not one of the most popular decrease you bid amount. Once you have done this monitor it over a couple of weeks or a month so you can see if you getting the same amount of clicks. Search engines are not always going to give you the best price. Some of the big ones are pretty fair, but I want control of these things myself. Many of my keywords are half the price of some of the major ones. Before I learned this though, many search engines were charging me full price when it was not warranted.

Every subtle change in your website landing page, keywords, keyword bidding, no matter how minuscule, has an effect on your customer. I always recommend change, monitor, analyze, modify and keep continuing the process. Compare the new change to the old one so that you can see which landing page converts best.

Once you have had your website going for awhile there is always much more fine tuning to do.

An Online Work At Home Business Is A Real Business

Posted in Business on 08.06.10 by Merlyn

An Online Work At Home Business Is A Real Business Really?

I suspect that far too many people fall into the trap of thinking that an online business is easier to start and run than an offline business. It is possible that an online business could require less money up front to start but Im not convinced less work is an option unless you have that so-called magic selling product.

Most people starting out with an online business probably do not fully understand what they are getting involved with. They understand the internet, and that they can pretty much access the world from their PC. So then maybe it is true that if one starts an online business by setting up a website then the whole world will see it and buy from it – Right?

Unfortunately this kind of thinking leads many people into a trap, and they fall victim to many online opportunities which are promoted as Easy Money. Trust me, if it was easy money they would be making it without you.

Maybe it is easier to understand by comparing an online business startup with an offline business startup.

You dont want to spend much money with startup costs, so you begin a business from your basement or garage. This would be similar to getting your own domain name or website in the online environment. Initially all you have is an online name with very little content.

Next, your offline business needs a product or service to sell. People are not real likely to just stop by and drop off money without getting something in return. An online business needs a product or service to sell also. Opportunity itself is not a product. Direct marketing (an offline business) used this same business model they sold products as well as offering an opportunity for one to make an income generating business.

Ok, so now were legal and have our business started with a good product or service offered. Does the money flow begin now? Not really, since very few people will know that your business exists. Youll need to do some advertising to make people aware of your business. An online business is very similar. Youre going to need to promote your website so that others will know you are out there.

As your offline business begins to grow, youll find the need to bring on other resources to assist with the additional business. You may also outgrow your space or need space with better accessibility for more people. An online business will also require more resources as it grows. More often the needs of an online business are digital or electronic versus the physical needs of an offline business. However, most of these electronic products or services have associated costs.

The point of this comparison is simply that an online business does not simply succeed overnight. Sure, there are always exceptions, but most new businesses take time and effort to succeed. If anyone tells you differently, then be careful! Dont be too quick to pull out the credit card.

An online business can be very rewarding just as an offline business is for many people. Just be realistic as you approach it.

An Efficient Way To Set Up An Online Business

Posted in Business on 01.06.10 by Merlyn

With so many online ventures failing, you may wonder, is it really worth considering setting up an online business? The answer to this is yes: internet based companies are still on the increasing 25 30% year on year. Even the economic slow down in recent years has not hindered this increase.

According to an annual report of internet trends by a top market Research Company, almost two third of Internet users in the United States have by now purchased a product or service online. Thats a dramatic increase from 2000.

While the hype over the new economy is maybe over, one thing is certain the internet has changed the way we do business. Many companies are now starting to grasp that their very survival may be in jeopardy if they are slow in implementing their internet business model.

However the question still remains – is there an efficient way to do business online?

Below I have outlined some components crucial to any online venture. While these might not be the only vital components of web based business, understanding them properly will significantly increase your chance of being successful with your online venture.

The main component you need is a business plan, one that makes sense and has been fully researched.

A recent AT&T report of successful entrepreneurs shows that businesses are more likely to be successful if they have a business plan. With a business plan you get a better picture of your planned venture. So, before starting you online venture, take time and write down what are you are intending to do. Product or Service If you are a brick and mortar company merely attempting to increase your sales of your products or services on the Internet. You at least dont have to think about what to sell.

You can sell nearly any product or service on the internet; there are even incidents of people buying corporate jets online!

If you are serious about opening an online business, finding a product or service that suits you should not be very difficult.

Knowledge base goods like e-books, how-to-reports and hard to find information do well on the Internet drop-ship items are also plentiful on the net. Thanks to the worldwide customer base of the internet finding a manufacturer for any product that you plan to import to your country or export from your country has become a lot easier. If you have expertise, online services related to web design, travel arrangement etc. are also good areas. Internet gambling is also a very good area to investigate.

The look and feel of your website is important as potential customers will decide whether to do business with you or not based on the first impressions of your website, it is vital to have a professional-looking website with enriched content.

You can decide what type of website you want according to your situation; there are a vast range of choices. Starting from a completely free website you can spend thousands for a more advanced site.

Understand SEO (Search Engine Optimization) this is very important, setting up your site so it is fully optimized for search engines is vital. Many companies will offer their services to optimize your site; however it can be done yourself by researching the subject prior to developing the site.

There are many quality portals that permit you to have products and services displayed on a single page web site for free. Many business to business portals offer this kind of services. However, for real time transactions you will still need e-commerce websites.

For a small monthly fee you can have the facilities necessary to run a full fledged electronic storefront and build it yourselves from easy to use templates.

If you go for this type of services, compare and see who has most of the features for the best price.

Shopping carts form an essential part of e-commerce sites, they allow you to accept purchase orders for many products or services.

The term “Shopping Cart is taken from real life shopping terminology to help users understand the actions available to them. Like in a supermarket a person can add items to shopping trolley, or remove items from the trolley or adjust the amount of the items as per requirement before checking out and making a payment.

Access to the shopping cart should be clearly evident. There should be numerous entry points to the cart. Add, remove and adjust quantity of the product features should be prominent on the cart page. The article name should have a link to the description of the product. There should be a way of saving items for future purchases. Shipping and other costs should be clearly stated before the payment process starts. Order forms should be simple and clear. All payment options should be explained clearly. Ordering process should be done through a secure server. You know you are on a secure server when the URL of your browser indicates “https:”. The s at the end of http stands for “secure”. Merchant Account 90 percents of all online retail sales take place through credit card transactions.

Even if you already accept credit cards for your offline transactions, that may not be enough. Although, you can take many precautions to reduce online credit card frauds, credit card companies still consider Internet transactions to be riskier than offline transactions.

There are numerous merchant account providers on the internet. Carry out some investigating before you sign up with any of them as their terms and conditions vary significantly.

It is definitely good to have a merchant account however that does not mean you cannot sell products or services without one! There are numerous other payment options available on the internet. Most popular of them are paypal, e-gold, e-bullion, etc.

If you would like to have an efficient online business, remember that old values still count. Proper planning, uncompromising customer service, integrity, hard work and persistence eventually will make your business successful.
